教学资源 Teaching Materials

学苑对于教材的选用十分谨慎,甚至可以说有些“挑剔”,我们倾向于从多种优质的教材中选取好的教学素材。我们也坚持不断创新自有的教材,从而确保被选用的教材能够配合我们的教法。在这里我们希望与参加学苑学习的家庭分享我们的教学资源,让家长更好地参与到孩子的教育当中。
We’re very picky about the materials we use, so we tend to teach using many different sources. We also frequently create our own materials to make sure we’ve got exactly what we need. Here we’d like to share a summary of some of our main teaching materials with parents so they can be more involved in their children’s education.

美术 Art

教学原则 Teaching Principles

  1. 学会“看到什么外轮廓,就把外轮廓画出来”认识所有眼睛所看见或手能触摸到的物体都是有外轮廓的。(借用生活用品,让小朋友用“跑火车”的方法,把圆形杯子的杯口,或长方形的牛奶盒画在白纸上)
  2. 学会“看到什么颜色,就画什么颜色”大自然的颜色,小朋友可以用水彩笔或颜料画在白纸上。
  3. 当有感动想画出心中所想所思,能自如的画出来。不受轮廓或颜色的影响(当孩子熟悉画外轮廓,熟悉使用色彩,他就完全享受美术探索的乐趣)

英文读写 English Literacy

基础技能和教学原则 Foundational Skills and Teaching Principles

按学习顺序 In This Order

  1. Phonological Awareness: understanding that words are made up of blocks of sounds. Children learn this by listening and playing with spoken language through rhymes, songs and games.
  2. Phonemic Awareness: understanding how to segment (breaking a word apart into its individual sounds) and blend (saying a word after each of its sounds are heard). Children learn this as a lead up to phonics and is reinforced as they learn phonics.
  3. Phonics: understanding the connection between sounds and letters. Children start by learning the sounds of each alphabet and move towards decoding increasingly complex text.
  4. Reading: understanding that letters form words and that words have meaning. Children start with very simple readers and progress through increasingly challenging reading passages or stories.

标准 Standards

We have created our own Phonics Levels (1-6) to track students’ progress and give them tangible goals. To find out what level your child is on, please ask your class’ head teacher.

    Foundational skills should be introduced prior to introducing numbers.

    Miquon Math Lab Materials textbook and accompanying rods to be the base of our curriculum.
  3. 算术,推理和逻辑推理也可以同时教授。
    Arithmetic, spatial reasoning, and logical deduction all equally important and can be taught concurrently.
  4. 目标是独立思考和解决问题的能力,而不是考试能力。
    Goal is independent thinking and problem solving ability, not test taking ability.
  5. 应该给学生关于某个问题思考,纠结的机会,而不仅仅是给出答案。
    Students should be allowed to struggle with a problem rather than just giving the answer.

    Movable Do, and solfege;
  2. 着重体验,减少理论,仅用理论解决学习时遇到的问题;
    Experience first, less theory, only use theory to solve problems;
  3. 通过演出展示音乐课堂的学习成果;
    Performing is the goal of music class;
  4. 以培养全面的音乐综合能力为教学目标;
    We want well-rounded students;
  5. 平衡“态度”和“准确度”,做“足够好”的演出。不为“完美”的演出浪费多余的学习时间和精力;
    Balance attitude and accuracy. Provide a good enough shows, not going to pursue a perfect show with too much effort;

  1. The Physical Education department at The Fountains understands that a person’s health must take into account not only the physical aspect but the person as a whole.

体育课结构 PE Lesson Structure

  1. 热身
    Warm up:
    Typically takes the form of stretching before doing any activities. The purpose of warm up is to primarily to avoid any injury.  Although our activities for young children are not so vigorous it’s a good lifetime habit to form that can carry over into adulthood where warming up before taking part in sport becomes even more important.
  2. 技能培训
    Skill development: can take many different forms such as; jumping, hoping, walking, jogging, running, standing on one foot, etc.  The purpose is to focus on raising our level of competence in these basic abilities thereby giving our students confidence and a greater degree of enjoyment during activities.
  3. 活动
    Activities: Can take on many different forms of games and sport such as; gymnastics, jumping rope, various types of tag, soccer, obstacle course, Frisbee, etc. The purpose of these activities is to give students opportunity to exercise their skills in a meaningful way that promotes good health.
